With the variety of material options shutters are made from, there is of course, a difference in delivery timeframes.  A custom shutter can take as long as 8 weeks or as little as 7-10 business days.

Custom wood shutter production time is determined by three factors:  the shape, whether or not it is a custom stain/color, and fabricator.  Majority of wood shutters are delivered within 4 weeks of placing the order.  However, if you have a custom arch-top shutter, you would be looking at an 8 week turnaround on your shutter.

Another delay obstacle is getting a custom stain/color for your shutters.  This option is worth the wait, if you are looking to match trim color in a bedroom or stained woodwork in a study.  Color match takes an additional 1-2 weeks, due to the fact a color swatch needs to be sent to the fabricator and the fabricator in return sends the color match back on a louver to be reviewed and accepted.

Composite shutters have a 4-6 week timeframe.   This timeframe fluctuates on the demand of the shutters.  Ordering composite shutters during the holiday season has a longer turnaround time than ordering them a month after the holiday.  So, if you want your shutters before the family comes to stay for the holidays, be sure to order at least 6 weeks before the family is scheduled to arrive.

If you just cannot wait 4-6 weeks to get your custom shutters, then Vinyl shutters are just want you need.  They shipped within 7-10 business days.  Vinyl shutters not only get to you quicker, they are less expensive, fire retardant, moisture resistant, and easy to maintain and clean.  Now that is a shutter that can meet anyone’s needs.  The only setback with this shutter is it is only available in three colors:  White, Off White and Beige.

Also, with all types of shutters, please remember to add an additional week for installation.  The time frames given above or from order time to delivery of the shutters.  An installation date will be scheduled by your shutter dealer once your shutters arrive.
